Does anyone know of vintage sounding pj pickups? (Not hot, not sure what the technical term for that would be). I’m currently modding a Ibanez TMB-100 and I don’t like how hot the pickups that came in it are.

Fralins, you can pick the wind. If not sure, call them & discuss--they will give good advice.
Aguilar 4PJ-HC set is also sweet and warm sounding. I love them in my Fender PJ.

I used a 70s Fender Precision from a guitar workshop, with a Semour Duncan "stack" Jazz. This, or similar, will be humbucking.
I used a push/push pot to series/parallel the P for different output levels onboard eg bigger bottom end for reggae, plectrum. thumb etc
SD do a PJ set.
It helps to shield everything, incl the wiring.
Ajust the PU height for equal output from each string.
Then you can push the gain and compete with active basses but with a classic sound.

4 String PJ Bass Pickups
I am intrigued by the sets they offer with a single coil J for the "classic P/J sound" (their words).
I must confess, I'm not enough of a P/J fan to know to what extent the single coil bridge is a thing with vintage purists (who don't write copy for the Norstrand web site).
It's not my top priority, but I'd be into trying it eventually, just to see what the deal is.
