On the local market here, they fetch way, way more. Probably more than what shipping to Europe and taxes would add to your local prices...

The vintage Japanese made basses that are a little beat are cheap here. No one wants them. Everyone wants USA made or Custom high end instruments here. There is literally used Yamaha basses for cheap prices at every store here. If I wasn't married I would have about 30 instruments here....lol.
I remember a good music shop on a main drag in Sapporo, down the street from Starbucks....but that was nearly 20 years ago. I bought my Bacchus Jiro bass there! Dang. But yeah...a nice BB or Motion Bass for cheap and you will be sitting on fat tone for days!

I must admit that when it comes to keeping Yamaha BB models straight I am severely challenged. Therefore I’m never sure which should be the expensive sought after models and which are the lesser known bargains waiting to be had.
Alack, you're right. There's so many of them, but the white BB2000 is one of the most highly prized. Well picked.
Speaking for myself, I've been a long time admirer of Yamaha basses, but only recently {i.e. last few years} have become a convert. But boy oh boy, what a conversion. When I took the plunge, I went straight for the motherlode and picked up a BB2000; then more recently, a BB3000.
These basses are stellar. The 2000 has it's own sound. More jazz bass-like, but in my opinion so much better than a jazz { I own/have owned three jazz basses }. The tone with pickups blended is fabulous.
I haven't owned the 3000 for as long, but as far as I can tell it's the ultimate PJ. Legit P tone on the front, and with pickups blended yields those growly low-mids. Slap tone is not as good as the 2000; more nasal, but I rarely slap, so no big deal. Both basses have a harmonic sweetness in the mix that's hard to define. Being a big guy {6'5} the ergonomics of both are perfect, but the 2000 is heavier. A beast of a bass. Bigger than a jazz. The 3000 is more svelte - just beautiful. The necks on both are sublime.
White is the most sought-after color, but I can't complain...
Yeah me also. I am thinking there are Japanese made only model that are underrated treasures that will skyrocket once the general public outside of japan find out. I am thinking I am gonna pull the wallet out and get that BBVI. It has all the same specs as the bb800 but no pickguard (which I don’t like). There is a sunburst and black model VI’s out there. Once I get it I am gonna post a review if possible .
