VM Jazz vs CV Jazz

IMO, the Classic Vibe J pups are very well rounded and have a nice, smooth sound to them. In a direct A/B comparison, they had a brighter, snappier top end and a slightly deeper tone overall than the ones on the VM J. I thought the VM mids had a wee bit more punch and drive, however. Both basses were taken right off the wall at the GC, given a quick tune by ear, and plugged into whatever amp they had available at the time (IIRC, it was an Acoustic B200 combo).

Side by side, the differences between the two sets of pickups were subtle, but discernible. To be honest, I think you would be very hard pressed to tell the two apart in a mix.
