I have a question regarding vol/blend but unrelated to diagram. Let me pile on to this a bit :)

When you have a blend control and the blend control is set for to activate both pickups, Does it activate in each 50% volume or each 100% volume?

That depends on the type of blend pot you use.

M/N blends run both pickups directly to the output, while A/C blends attenuate both pickups.

Sorry but what is M/N and A/C?

Does the same apply for switch-based pickup selector?

M/N and A/C are the tapers of the blend pots.

Pickup selector switches simply turn the pickups on and off. There is no resistance added to the circuit.

If you want a blend pot that behaves like a pickup selector switch, then choose an M/N taper blend, with the grounds left off. This will behave as a pickup selector switch, at the center detent, and the soloed pickup positions.
