"Voltage Controller" for AW-3?

I'm too cheap to just go out and spend $70 or more on the proper Roland expression pedal to use with my Boss AW-3 because I'm only dinking around with it at home. I found this on eBay... could it be used as an expression pedal without damaging the AW-3?

I don't know, but that would make a perfect enclosure for a DIY wah.

Yeh, it's cheap enough I thought about getting one just to mess with, though I know nothing about effects circuits it would be something to learn with. Maybe I could buy a second and try to build a rotary simulator, too.

Nope. It wont work without some modifications. AW3 wants a passive expression pedal, this is an active control voltage pedal.

Ooh, thanks for posting it though, I just put in a bid on one. I don't have an immediate use, but after that thread about the Frostwave Resonator I figure I should have one of these controllers in the toolbox!

So, using it straight up won't work.

I'm still tempted to get a couple to see what I can do with 'em as chassis for some DIY projects.

Second thought... I'll leave these pedals for someone who knows what they're up to and save my cash for the finished products. It's just not reasonable for me to get into building a pedal of any kind at this point.
