Volume Pedal! Which one is right for me?

I admittedly do not know much about pedals and only own two, a Sansamp BDDI and a Fender tuner , which is about to be replaced with a rack mount.

I play through a Gibson G3 Grabber and an Epiphone Thunderbird IV (the Epi for while the G3 is undergoing a neck replacement), so I tend to stick with passive basses. Mainly, I'd like to use the pedal for volume swells, as well as for cutting out noise in between songs. So, simplicity works, but something that will last and has decent battery life...haven't quite worked up to pedal board power supply status yet.

Thoughts?

I've got a Morley Pro Series wah, which also has distortion, but the volume pedal function I use the most. I use it do to swells to make it sound like I'm playing with a bow.

What is the difference between the 25K and the 250K versions? Does the 250K have a wider range of volumes? That would seem logical to me as the potentiometer is larger

The 25k is used for active electronics. I am not sure how it works exactly, but I think with the 25k it makes the hot signal take longer to get through, and with the 250k it goes through the resistance quicker so you get a lot of the signal at the begining of the sweep and the end of it, there is not much of a change...
