Apparently, the Ernie Ball Jr. is the most recommended, yet it seems to inflict fairly heavy tone suckage... do I understand it correctly? I've been interested on getting a volume pedal myself, if only for volume swells and simulated bow-playing..

My Ernie Ball VPjr does not suck any tone.

    I recommend it.

  4. I have the fender/volume tone. It's got 3d movement i.e. you can move it side to side to add/reduce tone (like the tone pot on your bass). I find it's great not only for the volume control but the tone control as well. Check it out...

  5. IMO there is only one volume pedal. EB VP JR

I got a used Boss FV-500H for my setup. All my basses are passive.
No issues and I don't have any tone suck from it. Built like a tank too.
