Volume pot not working

The other day when I plugged in my SX P-Bass, I had no sound. So I took off the pickguard and saw that the white wire that connects the pickup to the volume pot had somehow broken off. So with what little experience I have, I soldered the wire back to where it was supposed to be, but now my volume pot doesn't work. What can I do to fix this? I

I can post a picture of the wiring if needed.

Well, whoever did the wiring certainly didn't follow the diagram on the link I sent you. If it were me, I would rewire it the proper way. However, it sounds like you're not to comfortable soldering. (it is an easy skill to learn and you really should. There are lots of how-to videos on youtube.)
You may have made a poor solder connection. I'm not scolding you, but it is a common mistake if you're not familiar with soldering. Do you know someone who you can take it to? This is not a complex repair.

The only thing I did was resolder the pickup to the pot, so everything else was done by the person before me, or SX I suppose. But looking at the diagram more, I do see how wrong the wiring is. I should be able to fix it on my own.
