Vox...no, not the Amplug

Yesterday was new amp day and I wanted something different.
People comment every day about how much they like the Vox Amplug, but I've never seen anyone mention this.

Sure, plenty of good practice amps out there, Fender Rumble, Ampeg Rocket, Orange Crush, Peavey, Hartke, etc, but I decided to gamble and go with this...and this thing sounds pretty damned good!

I had a teacher that had a small vox pathfinder for years. It sounded great and was perfect for apartment lessons. Vox bass amps are very clear (the 3 models that I have heard). Congratulations

This is a "New" Vox product. I wish had they used a 10" or 12" speaker. I am using a Rumble with a 12" and It works great for the small coffee shop type gigs. Maybe they are able to get good performance from the 8" with the bass reflex structure, I don't know. I never had the chance to try one. The weight is incredible at only 9.9 lbs.

Only thing I would say to watch out for is the "drive" swich can introduce a bit of hiss. Perfectly usable though. Obviously you're not going to get a tonne of low-end out of it but it's quite practical. The sizing is more or less meant to blend with the rest of the line they made under that product group.
