Anybody ever use these before?

I was at my buddy's place yesterday using his htc vive headset and it was absolutely amazing. I had kind of thought that I wouldn't really be taken in by it but it was the craziest thing I've ever seen. I was playing this hoverboard game and I kept falling over. Like I would try to get out of the way of something or be leaning and be unable to stand up. This other shooting game I was playing I kept trying to lean on walls and things to provide cover and was doing the same thing. It was absolutely crazy. If you haven't tried it or were skeptical like me, it's something that you really need to experience.

I just got the one from Google a couple weeks ago.
I think it's amazing too. I did the YouTube video of the balloon trip to the edge of the universe, and I started getting motion sickness it was that real to me.
Now, I roam around the earth with Google Street View and check out places I've been or would like to go.
I watched a movie (Remember The Titans) on it, and that was really cool too. Since that wasn't a 3D or optimized for VR movie, I am not sure what that experience would be like on a VR headset.

I had the chance to test some Sony VR headsets in Japan, but they were full headsets and game-connected only. Pretty impressive. (EDIT:) I asked Sony if they could come up with a classroom version that could be plugged into classroom-provided USB ports, but no luck so far.

At Colorado State we're building a VR lab in a new Vet Medicine building. I'm sure they will do stuff in there that only vets really want to see.

I have the ps vr. The res is too low and makes me feel sick.

Since my PC rig is loaded with a dual 1080Ti I think I can get a real headset and make it work. I might try that in the near future.

I've been thinking about picking up an HDMI-capable VR headset. I've never played a video game in my life, though; I'd be buying it only to see the 3D effects in Kraftwerk's 3D Catalogue Blu-Ray concert set. The ATMOS and 5.1 sound is spectacular, and I've read that the 3D effects are staggeringly good.

I tried one three years ago at the AT&T store... maybe technology has advanced at the consumer level since then, but it didn't do much for me that day. I felt like the stuff I was watching looked phony... like dated technology.

I'll be getting the new Samsung in a couple of months... will be interested to see what VR options are available then.

Got my oculus quest last night. Probably the coolest gadget I've ever gotten since my first Iphone all those years ago. Really amazing and no PC or wires. I've only played the tutorial and space pirate so far but man that is soooooo fun.
