Columbia River Gorge
So Gorge Sound and Light does several sporting events over the outdoor season. 7/10 -7/12 is a great event. Kiteboard 4 Cancer. It's a fund raiser that supports putting kids with/surviving cancer into outdoor recreational camps. Great cause I'm happy that my company can support it.

Now these folks are all adventures sports types... Where other people see limits, they see opportunity and so they come up with some crazy stuff... This year's request - can we call the start of the distance challenge from a helo and broadcast that...

Anybody interfaced radio to their gear before ? Some of the crap I've heard on radio is a little frightening... Maybe a cell phone call to my iphone ? And a severly set limiter ?

What kind of radio? Walkie talkie, cellphone, FM, AM, etc?

All of the above should have an 1/8" or RCA output jack(s), either stereo or mono (some radios have a dedicated headphone jack). The limiter is a good idea...

Many years ago, as a last resort, I mic'ed a Motorola Razr for a start time announce. Pretty ratty-sounding, but it got the job done.

Outstanding cause, BTW...

It is a great cause. Some of these kid will survive but have just take a major blow to their confidence. Most of us don't learn mortality at that age... So it's really about building these kids up for life after the big C. The organizer lost her bro to the disease and started Althete's 4 Cancer as a response. The date is literally world wide at this point. The turn out is amazing. ... And some of the riders are unbelievable. XGames level stuff and beyond...

I think we've settled on cellphones. Left rear door is off the chopper for the photog so it's going to be noisy. And so the DJ and talent are pre recording a bunch of chatter and the start just in case...

Saturdays line up is...
Taiko drummers
A 14 piece marching band with stage routing and gogo dancers. (the love Bomb GoGo Marching Band - look 'em up on youTube. They are hysterical... Their cd is "Revenge of the Band Nerds", You simply can't make this stuff up...

Then an all electronic, positive message hip hop band.

3 bands... Light day but I split at 3pm to setup the evening gig and play a wedding 7 to 10... Back on the event site for an 8:00 am start Sunday... Thank The Lord for good crew!

Make hay while there is hay to be made, Eh ? Or is it "I'll sleep when I'm dead..."
