Maybe I overpaid, I didn't even price shop. I met a store owner who I really liked and decided I was going to buy my next bass from him since he's not one of the big box stores. I talked him down as far as I could and said bag it.

Also, this was surprising to me, I logged onto their website from my iPhone and hit the chat function and got immediate answers. It worked amazing. I highly recommend it

I love those 77 necks. Loooove them. I went out of my way to put one on my franken PJ special build.

It is printed on the headstock after all.
So, no excuses for spelling errors.


But anyways, I actually play Squier exclusively.
By choice.
Yes, I change out the pickups but that's it.
I have a MusicMan that sits at home and barely gets played.
My Squiers have played hundreds of shows, especially the Pro Tone P/J.
That's one high quality instrument.

I tried quite a few Vintage Modified Jazz basses (I really like the one you chose) before I decided on the Classic Vibe Jazz. Everyone who tries mine can't believe the playability and the sound!

The way to think of Squire and Fender these days is like this:
-You can still get the super-cheap affinity squire's that you remember from the 90's and early 00's.
-General increases in quality mean that the top level squire's (CV's some of the VM's) are on-average about the level of the previous generation of MIM's.
-The MIM's have moved up in quality, variety and price to fill the void left by the departure of MIK and MIJ Fenders
-Fender USA models have increased in quality and price a bit across the board.
