Wal Bass Club.

there is only one left now. The birdeye maple is gone. I mentally masturbated over two too long and someone got it. There is a fretless mk1 with shedua facings on there that I'm looking at. After all the chasing i have done with stingrays changing out preamps etc. Now having paid someone for two pickups a year ago that I haven't gotten yet. I feel like I was robbed on that deal. This is a lot more money that two pickups. All that has me a little apprehensive to send that much money. Even considered a vacation across the pond to pick it up. If people here vouch for him. It maybe ok to send the money.

Understood.
I think there is three of us US TB/Wal owners that bought a Wal from Bass Direct... it's an actual store, not a private seller working from his parents garage.

i also spoken to the guy at bassdirect on a couple occasions, but never pulled the trigger on anything. so i'd prob say its safe to say if you send him money you'd get your bass.

kinda sux what happened to you in the past - was this through TB or elsewhere???

if you wanted an opinion about the Mk I your looking at, it's semi in the upper price range of what they've been going for lately (especially with the brown Wal case which i'm not particularly found of if i had my choice of cases); granted it's advertised as being immaculate.

Not sure if you were specifically looking for a fretless or just a Wal in general, but bassgallery uk has this (i've bought a Wal from them in the past, just FYI):

Also there was a fretless Wal for sale here on TB at one point by a fellow TB member but it hasn't been specified that it had been sold....

I guess the wait time does allow dealers to keep those prices up...
it does appear that way.

By the way, I have 6 basses (Ritter with Sims, original from Factory-Status S2 Original from Factory, not SIMS- Alembic S2 original from factory ,not SIMS) basses with LEDS and all of them have an extra battery with compartment . I'd never ever seen one that uses the same Battery for circuit and LEDS.

PJ, I checked my Sadowsky I got a couple months ago that I had provisioned for SIMs and it does appear to have two batteries as well. Did't really notice since both batteries fit in the same control cavity as everything else. Also, with no instrument plugged into the bass, LEDs can turn on and off - unlike the Wal which needs the instrument plug in to enable the switch. If i had make a edju-micated guess, perhap since there is a total of 10 LEDs on the Wal (only side LEDs), the current draw of the LEDs would't affect the preamp much. If it is greater then 10 (Sadowsky has 11 LEDs-again only sides), perhaps then it gets to a grey area where they recommend two batteries. Just a guess  Oh well, there IS more then one way to skin a cat!! LOL

Nope. The red Geddy will stay all original! I was thinking of getting SimS LEDs on my Mk3 on order.

But thanks for all the info and pics!

last time i spoke to Paul regarding orders, it seems like he's not offering that as an option and no longer is in cahoots with Martin during the building stage.... I believe PJ asked too with the build he just got. So it'd probably be done the same way or instead of just sending the neck; send the whole bass so he'd do the routing, etc. Shipping back and forth would obvioiusly be more though :hmm:

They were some sgd pickups. I'm sti waitng. I'll try that mojo man again for that fretless. I made and offer and would have gone to pick it up but never heard anything. I'd rather pick it up in person and have some be able to give it a once over.

hot damn!!!
