The new Wal-branded Hiscox cases are great. Much more stable than the old dogbone Wal cases.

Wal pro2E, PB.1354 This was my first Wal, it's got quite a special history. It used to belong to Nick Beggs (Kajagoogoo) he played it on the 1983 No.1 hit Too shy. I bought it from the Bass centre (London) back in 1989, they were selling a couple of basses for him. I kept it for a few years and sold it in 1992![]()
I for one thought the story on this bass was great because I dig Nick Beggs, but I never comented. But what I didn't know was that it was recently for sale (sold), and had I known I would have persued it. It's funny how the past several owners didn't know it's history, and I bet the new owner has now really happy with it.
So it might be time to sleep on the couch...

It sat in the TB classifieds for a loooooong time. Finally a friend bought it, but decided he wanted something else, so I went ahead and took it off his hands.![]()
matthewfoote said:Wow of all the Wals I have seen, the tinted flame maple on your new toy is totally stunning.
Great to see that one find a new home! Not in the least because it stops me from trying to figure out a way to buy it myself....

I think it should be illegal to sell Wal basses in the US, like cuban cigars, so you should all return them to the UK where we can appreciate them all to ourselves.
In return you can have all our MacDonalds outlets, a fair swap me thinks

Especially all those completely pristine ones. Have they never been played in any sort of rock'n'roll manner?![]()
Oh, the're not pristine...they still look good and required alot of clean up work, but have their share of scratches and buckle rash. And the white one was a complete refin, the original finish was scorched.
The finish is really unusual, it was listed as the only violet one. And while it is faded/yellowed a bit, it also appears a little different depending on the way it catches different lighting; sun vs indoor. You can see in this updated family pic.

I apologize if this question has been asked and answered but has anyone received a Wal since the company reopened? Just trying to get a feel for how "caught up" they are, status on making new orders etc.
