just came back from testing the Wal Bass.

judging from my limited experience with Wal, the bass is in awesome condition for an instrument this age, the body and headstock have some minor dinks and scratches, but the back of the neck is in pristine condition, couldn't find anything on there.

also, the electronics work perfectly, tried every knob and the push/pull - no crackling or scratching, looked inside, the electronics look exactly like the pics you posted and the build data confirms it as a 1985.

I didn't buy it however because for me the sparks didn't fly so to speak.

I'd say low since the ones i seen in places like basschat and here on TB would be around the ball park of $4 - 5k and the higher end of that price spectrum at retail shops in the U.K (bassgallery/bassdirect). hindi mo tingin nito mabaliw? ;)

Yeah it does seem volatile at the moment ..Maybe guys that have been hanging on are panic selling thinking this is as good as it gets ...or maybe cashing in because they are on a reduced timescale ....and all the while Paul is pumping new ones into the market....I guess you never really own a wal....you just rent it.

By the way ....I'm a UK foreigner....but I translated your message.

Wow! is that an ebony board? looks phantastic and even has a matching headstock ;)

BTW, talking about the headstock, it looks as if there's an additional inscript in the middle... what does it say?

Unfortunately I'm in no position to buy it off you, and I guess you wouldn't be interested to trade it for a bunch of EBMMs :rolleyes:

Saw that listing earlier today ...was gonna post it in the "I won the wal pick up on eBay" thread. But it hasn't been continued. Thank god too!...there is only so many times you can read "soon soon" and thinking the time line is in "weeks" but actuality it's "years"

But whatever...I'm well over it
