I'm having trouble handling the |C7#9 Db7#9| bars on Black Coffee. I understand that the Db7#9 in a subV, a tritone sub for the V of C7...
The A progression goes:

I think I'm hearing a couple of versions do something like a R 5 on the C7, then R b5 on the Db7, keeping that "riff" on each of those bars through the song. That does seem to work.
Any other ideas/insights?
