One thing I've really noticed is how few checkout people in any retail establishment, restaurant, bar or whatever, ever say "thank you". Nine times out of 10 I'll say thank you to them even though I just gave them MY money so that is completely ass-backwards.
A glib "Have a great day" or "here you go" or "enjoy" does NOT equal a sincere "thank you." Maybe I'm just old school but I really wish more people in the service businesses would get this.
