Double Bass Walter Woods contact info...

Dear all,

the circulating phone-number 1-760-772-7952 is apparently no longer associated with Walter. I tried calling and talked to a man who made it very clear that I must have gotten the wrong number.

A white pages reverse search yields the same results- the number is associated to a business address in Brooklyn, New York (?). So, if anyone has newer contact info on Walter Woods, maybe post it here..

That's the same number I have and I spoke with Walter and ordered my new amp that arrived yesterday.

Maybe you misdialed.

Legend is he is "on again off again" revealing himself to the public.

He is really doing a disservice to his loyal customers and his own lgacy by not letting his schematics out to at least a few trusted techs. If he were to pass on tomorrow many of them would be hosed.

I hear your pain, but I was wondering if you actually owned one of Walter’s amplifiers? Just curious. Walter’s been nothing if not pleasant and responsive to me personally.

Not me but several friends. Two of them finally gave up and sold them after taking almost a year to get the guy to reply to them and get their amp fixed. One of them just loves his so much that he "Doesn't care that the guy is a jerk".

(His words, not mine.)

That being said, the guy is something like 147 years old, or something? He should either bring a legacy builder on board... someone who would take over when he passes, sell the design, or at least release the dang schematics... even if only to a few techs he trusts.

Just my view.
