Walter Woods paired with???

I've been running my WW through an Aguilar GS112 cab with tweeter and for larger rooms, adding a second one without the tweet. Fine for either URB or EBG. A decent and reasonably priced cab, but I am considering a Wizzy 10 for intimate settings as these AGs are a bit on the hefty side. They're hard to carry with only one handle!

I just plunked down the cash for a WW Ultra. It should be here next week. I have 2 different cabs to try it with:

Bergantino AE410 (my 'big' rig cab)
Patterson Audio 110CX (mini rig cab)

I've heard lots of good things about the WW + Berg combination, but I'm very curious about the Patterson with the WW. The Patterson is a fairly punchy cab, but smooth in the high end because of the coax tweeter. I'll post back here when I've had a chance to try it out!

Yes, the WW works great with the Bergs as long as they are not the neos.

FWIW, Walter's "reference cabinet" was an old, shallow, slant front EV...I think it was a single 12 and may have even had an open back. This was back when I picked up my amp in 1991(?), a time when more modern, more advanced cabinets were easily available.

I use my WW Hi Power Stereo mainly with 2 Aguilar DB 112 or 2 Accugroove Tri 112 L, but I second the opinion that you can pair a WW with almost everything.

In terms of combination of versatility, weight, power this amp still stays unbeaten after all this years.

Bought the AG112, I'm liking it but I think the 1x12 without the horn might be the way to go. I sure wish I could try it with a BERG HT1x12ER or a Berg 322??? I'm hesitate because of the weight though... Anybody live in Ohio close to Akron Cleveland area?


I have three WWoods, 1 Eletroacoutisc stereo and 2 WWU. I might be willing to part with a WWUltra. Make me an offer if your interested (PM me).

Sounded ok to me with the AE410(which I gigged with several times), better than the AE112 for sure. Best Berg cab with the WW is the HT112 IMO. I tried it the HT112ER and while I love the cab with other heads, it was not as good with the WW as the HT112 IMO. The ER is bigger sounding, but lost a lot of definition and punch with the WW. I loved the HT112ER so much I sold the WW and moved on the other heads.

I recently had a Walter Wood ElectroAcoustic.
The best electric setup I had was a WW with a Schroeder 12/10. I get lots of positive feedback when playing Fender basses with that rig.

My upright rig was a little different
I used the WW with a custom cabinet that had a Altec 15" speaker.
I was happy with the sound of both rigs anchored with the WW Electro Acoustic head.
