Wampler Cory Wong Compressor

Oh baby. super stoked to hear how this performs. I've been an ego user (end of chain) for awhile now, but have been tempted by the di / compressor combo of the pulp n peel. Looks like my patience paid off cause this on paper is everything I want!

I like the idea of the XLR out. Similar to the JHS. I stuff my comp at the front of my chain though. I have a ton of respect for Brian Wampler. His designs are very good and he understands EQ and how it affects different instruments at a level greater than some pedal makers. And Wong is a great player.

If Brian Wampler has ANY business sense at all he will also make a compressor in just a plain white enclosure and call it the White Compressor.
I ordered one.
I was actually going to purchase an EGO or SUHR Woodshed this week. Pricey for a Compressor, but I'm digging the boost feature. I'm not sure if I'll use the XLR out (I run my Compressor before dirt), but it may be nice to run a clean signal to a board/DAW for recording.

My question too. Seems like an odd choice. If it's going for an AIO value add, it sort of misses the mark to me with very limited EQ functionality. Especially with many preferring comp at beginning of chain.
Maybe for guitarists, however, comp at the end of the chain makes more sense. And given Cory's affinity for DI guitar, maybe that's just what he's going for. End of the chain for the recording guitarist.
I met him while he was still in music school --- bought a line6 from him.
He was warmly promoting at that time... He's one of the few contemporary folks that understands it's all sales.
That's what I assumed it was or would be a take on that. I still have to watch the video of the Wong.
