Warmoth Neck Question

I have a Fender American Professional Precision V bass and would like to put a fretless neck on it.

Will the Warmoth Deluxe 4+1 fit?

Any other fretless necks out there you'd recommend more?

No, because the Fender only has 20 frets and all Warmoth's 5 Deluxe necks have 22.

You might have better luck with their Standard 5 J Bass necks but they are not 4 over 1, just 5 inline with (GB7) smaller tuners.

Just so you know, warmoth isn't fulfilling orders until they are allowed by the state of Washington to reopen production on may 5.

Is there anyone that does make aftermarket 4/1 fretless necks for the American Pro bodies? I've tried searching but haven't had any luck.

I contacted Warmoth about doing a 4+1 20-fret neck since the MIM's have had 4+1 for quite some time now (their in-line 5 is based on MIM Jazz V necks), and they said they have no plans to change what they have at this point in time.
They did say that they can skip the tuner hole drilling so that you can have a 4+1 configuration drilled by a Luthier (or by you if you have the confidence)

I bit the bullet and got the in-line 5 fretless neck and bought a set of Hipshot tuners. Best neck I ever played, and I wouldn't hesitate to get another.

It does look nice. I'm in the same boat as you were in that the OP is now in. I have a fender jazz 5 standard with the 4+1 headstock and want a fretless neck. I wish they would just drill the headstock so I could reuse the tuners I have but I do like the hipshot tuners on my Dingwall so I might end up waiting a little longer until I can buy some new tuners also and go that route. I thought about drilling the holes myself but I want to get roasted flame maple and in researching have found while it's very stable once the bass is setup up and playing that it can be touchy during the build process splitting on people who didn't drill large enough pilot holes for the tuner screws and that kind of stuff.
