Nordy Big Singles and a Bass Mods pre..great combo, it's a J on steroids!

Just got this in trade. Warmoth neck and body. Not my first Warmoth project - have done a bunch of guitars and used Warmoth necks on basses, but this is my first “all Warmoth” bass. (wish I could take credit for it)

Not sure I dig the maple board and blocked and bound in black. Would prefer pau ferro with pearl blocks, but the look is growing on me.

The wenge is dead smooth, and I would say very durable. I have had this bass about a year now, and the effect of the oil from my fingers is more noticeable on the fingerboard than any string grooves.

Thanks for the reply. I have since sold my Warwick Corvette and purchased a Warmoth body, so my fretless neck ( with ebony fingerboard) will be going on my other Warmoth body. I did check with a local tech and he advised against using wenge as a fretless fingerboard as it is porous and would require filler to make it durable.

If the guy can get people to pay that much for "parts basses", more power to him..I'm assuming he does his own finishes, the instruments look pretty nice..not that I would pay that much for one, would definitely assemble one myself for way less $....
