BeautifulI received my short scale Roasted Swamp Ash body today. Always nervous about opening a Warmoth box but I like it. Going to send it out next week to get a clear satin finish.

Those pickups look spectacular!
Well, I pulled the trigger again and bought a short scale Jazz showcase body and custom ordered a 32" Warhead neck for it. Found this Black roasted swamp ash extra light body in the showcase (3lbs 12oz). Decided to order a 32" Roasted Maple neck with Bubinga fretboard and Black face dots. Made a mock up of the fretboard and I think will look/sound nice.
Also been looking into these pickups that I recently came across from Israel called Ezi pickups that are encased in wood with no plastic used in them..They make a Humbucker in a Jazz size that I am really interested in. Now the wait begins again..Still waiting on my Fretless 32" neck to come in also for my other roasted swamp ash Jazz body.

Beautiful.
I just bought a Showcase Roasted Flamed Maple J body...damn nice it is. Warmoth is nothing but quality .
I did. It looked odd. Balanced and played great though. I ended up replacing the neck with a 4-in line headstock and it looked a lot better but was more neck heavy :-(.Anyone built a Jazz bass with Warmoth 2+2 headstock?
I'll be interested to know how they sound. They're quite spendy, but I'm not opposed to parting with money for superior products.I'm hoping they sound as good as they look..I ordered a set of the single coil Jazz from them for my fretless and should have those in a couple of weeks. If they sound good I will order the Humbucker set for the Black Jazz.![]()
Nice! That grain pattern will make the bass look like an extended range instrument once the strings are installed.I received my short scale Roasted Swamp Ash body today. Always nervous about opening a Warmoth box but I like it. Going to send it out next week to get a clear satin finish.

"Pickguard or no Pickguard" yeah...that is THE question. Still undecided. Maybe clear without screw holes?Oh Yeah! That is stunning! Pickguard or no Pickguard? I am having a friend in Virginia make me a couple of wood control plates for me ( west Virginia wood arts). I'm not going to put pickguards on mine.

The grain on your body is so cool and unique, I can't wait to see the finished product.
Yes, a clear pickguard would look nice on your Jazz...Just saw a Spalted Maple Devon Bass in a NBD thread recently and it had a clear pickguard that looked awesome on it.
I should have my Roasted swamp ash body back from getting clear satin paint in a week or two and will post pics![]()
