Warmoth Owners Club!!

20180622_163001.jpg

My goal was to create kind of an update on the old "stripped Jazz Bass" look that I've been keen on since I first saw Sting's old Jazz on the back of Zenyatta Mondatta, and the roasted maple suited that perfectly. I picked up the neck a few months ago and just ordered the body (with requisite tort pickguard) this week...
Coincidentally, the song in my video is from that Police album!

For those who have experience, how much difference does the heel contour make? I'm deciding on some build ideas and upper fret access is extremely important. In that same vein, is there a certain warmoth body type that facilitates easier upper fret playing? Thanks!

Slow reply but yeah I believe it does make a little difference..I dont have it on my warmoth Bass's but I kinda wish I did opt for that option to try it out. :bassist:

I took some new pics of my Warmoth Basses and thought I would post some to get the thread moving a little.

Here are my 2x 32" scale P Basses

#1 Koa Unique top on Swamp Ash (clear Gloss)
Birdseye Maple Neck/Fretboard (clear satin), moon glow side dots, 6230 nickel frets (reshaped warhead headstock)
Nordstrand NP4A pickup & Nordstrand 2b pre-amp
Hipshot chrome hardware
Brass Nut
Custom neck plate

#2 Black Korina on Black Korina (chambered) clear satin
Roasted Maple neck (waxed) w/ Wenge fretboard, Abalone dots, 6230 nickel frets (reshaped warhead headstock)
Luminlay side dots
Nordstrand NP4A pickup & Nordstrand 2b pre-amp
Hipshot Black hardware
Brass Nut
Custom neck plate

Both weigh around 7 1/2 lbs and they were both assembled/setup by Mo at Nordstrand...These rival any boutique bass with the right person assembling and doing the setup..Mo over at Nordstrand is an awesome guy..All the people there are great...32' is now my preferred scale of Bass to play.

I'm starting to put together an idea for a build. Will need the pickups routed "aftermarket" but it will be something like this....
4 string.
Jazz body, Alder back with either swamp Ash or BE maple top. Trans red or cheery burst with cream binding. Rear routed controls and battery compartment.
Tell neck with P bass nut, standard profile. Ebony or Pau Ferro on maple, vintage tint gloss.
L2000 pickups and preamp with K mod.
Chrome Hipshot A bridge, chrome Hipshot clover tuners with D-tuner on E string.
Will take me some time to get together but can't wait for the result.

This is my custom Warmoth Jazz that was finished late 2016

Warmoth Dinky Jazz 34" scale:
Swamp Ash w/Transparent Turquoise gloss
Roasted Maple Neck/Fretboard (waxed), 6230 frets, Turquoise face dots, Graphite rods (Reshaped neck at Nordstrand)
Luminlay side dots (blue)
Custom Turqoise headstock Inlay
Nordstrand Big J-Blade pickups (clean & clear) & Nordstrand 2b pre-amp
Hipshot chrome hardware
Custom neck plate
Super balanced and light at 7 1/2 lbs or just under

This Bass was also professionally assembled and set up by Mo at Nordstrand.
I might be letting this bass go soon because I play the 32" scales more and want to fund a custom 32" scale PHD bass
I will let this thread know before I put this up in the classifieds
