Warmoth Owners Club!!

That Warhead headstock design is really well done. I wish they offered it on 34" necks.

Might have to call and ask some time...
They have done it in the past. I snagged a 34" roasted maple 24-fret Warhead from the showroom a while back, even though I had no specific plans for it. It was just too unique to pass up.

Alright! So, my medium scale jazz bass is at the luthier :hyper: everything is mostly set but there are a couple of parts he is waiting on to come in. While waiting on those, we are trying to figure out the headstock. He uses a laser for his designs. Here are a couple crude mockups I did at home by cutting the font out and laying it over the headstock. Understanding that the font will have to be resized, which orientation do yall like better? Any other ideas or feedback is welcome!

What would look really cool IMO is if you could curve the "Sunny" a little bit into a smile shape, and have it match the curve of the bottom (treble side) of the headstock.

The bottom example would work better if you are going to have a round string tree on the headstock. that way the string tree will not cover your logo...BlueTalon's idea of having a bit of curve on it would look good also

This is the style string tree I am using. Its fairly unobtrusive: Hipshot Style String Retainer String Tree for Electric Bass Guitars - Chrome | Northwest Guitars | Reverb

I sent these ideas over to him and we are going to play around with it early next week

Slanted looks better to me...Picture 2

So this is MJT finish....Non relic??

Did Warmoth send your body directly to MJT or did you receive it first?

I really wanted MJT to do my body ...But their body quality did not seem as high as Warmoth standards

Correct on all fronts. Warmoth body, shipped straight to MJT for a non-relic nitro Sonic Blue :)

I'm fairly pleased. A few minor quibbles with the finish (yes, I know, perfectly clean is not their specialty), but I'm pleased nonetheless.

I'd recommend for anybody not expecting finishing perfection, and let's face it, nitro is meant to wear gracefully.

Just to be clear, they don't only do relics ( my bass is an example).
Fair enough. But if I'm going to get a Warmoth body and have someone else finish it, I don't see a reason not to have Warmoth do it. At least, I have not yet encountered a situation where it would make sense to me to have someone besides Warmoth do it.
