Interested to see if they decide they can build you another one. I can't imagine they got rid of the design files, but I think they're pretty firmly inclined to deny any one-offs nowadays.
The Carved Top Dinky P was discontinued, apparently quite a while ago. smallbutmighty mentioned it earlier in this thread, reply # 3919:

(ALREADY CLAIMED) I was wondering if anyone wanted the old maple neck that was on my dark purple P bass? Nothing wrong with it, just want it to go to a good home and be used. It has the tuners on it as well. The only thing it needs is a string retainer. It would be for free, just pay shipping.

They made my Mahogany carved top Dinky P in 2005 with 5A one piece Quilt cap. They stopped doing one piece caps first, then bookmatched them for better symmetry. I was very lucky to get this one - it's my No.1.
New Warmoth Bass day - I just picked this up from Halfwound 121 here on Talk Bass, so it is not new - but new to me.

That is absolutely beautiful! It very much resembles a Roscoe custom carved top (and PRS).
I would love to se Warmoth make those again!
Lenny, did you get into these short scales because of arthritis issues? Or just for fun?
Hey my friend.
Mostly due to my left-hand thumb (arthritis). But let me tell you, they are great to play and actually the "E" string sits better in the mix than a 34 (in my opinion). When I play my 71 at church it always sounds a bit overbearing on the low side and the short scales do not. Also, I have never like the sound of a jazz bass, but with the combination of these Delano pickups, the concentric knobs and 30 scale - I actually like this jazz style bass.
Also, it is funny when I show up - they ask me why I have a guitar. Both basses fit nice into the gator guitar gig bag. The Jazz weighs right at 8 pounds 12 oz and the P 7 pounds 4 oz.
That's my take and you know that is why there used to be 5 buttons on the car radio - not everyone likes the same music.

Excuse my ignorance. So, those are full size bodies the 30” scale necks are attached to? Are they Warmoth bodies?
No Warmoth makes slightly smaller (short scale) bodies to be matched with the short scale necks.
13Bass is correct - the bodies are a little smaller. On my basses the necks, bodies and pick plates are all Warmoth short scale, all the other parts are std size as full scale.

It came out great - sight unseen until I opened the box. Let me mention the neck bought a couple years earlier - one-piece Macassar Ebony with matching fb, and back then they were using early 60's J profiles. One of my slickest feeling necks. Wish they brought those back too...
P.S. I have both std cut and slim cut current J necks. They used to be slicker back then - think '62 J.
Very nice short scales. I need to build one. I've been wanting a smaller bass to fit on planes.
If you like them like I do once - you play one you might not go back to 34.
