Thanks. Not looking for a premade instrument. Just wondering about differences between body shapes, upper horn, etc. I mean, besides the obvious difference of appearance.

Hi Everyone--does anyone have opinions about the relative merits of the Dinky P vs G4 bass bodies? Thank you.

The Dinky P looks a little more Fendery, and the G4 looks a little more Gibsony.

The upper bout on the G4 looks like it extends a bit farther, so the balance should be easier/better.

I believe so. It's all done by CNC, and everything is relative to the neck pocket and bridge location.

OK, that isn't technically correct. For the CNC machine, everything is referenced to whatever reference point they start with. But for our purposes, effectively that means everything concerning the neck pocket, bridge location, and pickup routes, are the same from bass to bass.

Really not in the budget, but if I had a slush fund I would have ordered this. Love how it's all put together.

I'm a sucker for orange basses, and have been wanting a G4. Good thing I can't remotely afford this one!

I think my next Warmoth will be a 34" G4 routed for an MM in the sweet spot.

Me too! Planning a couple of orange Warmoths actually..but I could not resist holo flake and aquamarine dye for my first two builds.

Not sure. I have ordered custom pickup routes from them before, but that's a little more straightforward than a custom control cavity. Getting custom pickguards is relatively easier, there are companies that specialize in that.

If you're into yellow as well, turmeric powder mixed with just a little water makes a great stain. It's easy to clean up as well. I used Tru Oil to finish my turmeric stained G Bass. Not trying to derail with non-Warmoth bass content. I'm figuring it's pertinent because many Warmoths get DYI finishes.

String-thru alder Dinky J body with solid cream finish, maple neck and fretboard with vintage tint and cream headstock, Abalone dots, Stainless steel frets and gold Sims side LEDs. Fender Custom Shop 60s pickups, series/parallel push-pull mod. Pearloid scratchplate. Gotoh 206 bridge, gold hardware throughout.

I am curious and no disrespect here. But why do people make a complete Warmoth build and then put a Fender logo on it.

My friend got me into the Warmoth basses, and in the past, I have never liked a Fender jazz bass. So, I bought this Warmoth 30" jazz bass from him and it is the best sounding and playing jazz I have ever played. The first jazz bass keeper ever for me, and I am glad to have the Warmoth Logo on it.

I do not want to give credit to a company that had nothing to do with this fine bass. And thanks for this "Warmoth" page - really enjoy the posts.

Again, just wondering and not bad disrespect to anyone here on this form.
