I would think not, can't imagine it taking 8 weeks to make the body. Not sure how it does take though, I would have to research a bit, but maybe someone here knows and can chime in!
It doesn’t take 8 weeks, but there’s an order queue. It might be that a body takes a couple days to be made, but they just won’t get to start on it until they get through other orders. It’s like ordering at a restaurant, depending on how busy it is your food might not start cooking as soon as the kitchen receives your order.
My G4 body with 5A top took 10 weeks, ordered Nov 7, but I'm sure it varies depending on the time of year.
I imagine busy times coincide with Christmas and tax return season, too. I've only ever bought from the Showcase and never with a finish applied, so those orders have been quickly fulfilled.
I wonder why a custom pickguard will ship faster than a body or neck that are in stock.

As far as tinkering, what I hadn't remembered was that AJ gave the measurement from fingerboard-side edge of the nut to the first row of pole-pieces, not to the edge of the pickup. So I had to move the pickup about 8mm closer to the neck than what I'd originally calculated, which was from the nut to the edge of the pickup. Then I was quite shocked at how good/convincing it sounded.
It definitely overlaps geometrically with the MM sweet spot, but my computer that has the exact drawing on it is with the "Genius" Bar at present so can't look it up. Obviously the MM pickup is very different and has its rows of pole pieces further apart, usually in parallel. When I put this dual-coil in parallel it sounded much less like AJ, so it has to be serial! Anyway definitely not far off the MM sweet spot...

And here's a picture of the test bass I'm using, showing the location, plus bridge and neck. Even this mutilated Squier Affinity sounds mighty, strung BEAD/130-105-85-65, so the Warmoth is going to be amazing! 16-18 weeks isn't too bad compared to two years and five figures for the authentic version of this sound!

Noticed different projects with Warmoth bodies and different necks. I picked up this Lakland/Warmoth from TBer on here. Kept noticing it be advertised so decided to finish it hopefully. Body already routed for neck jazz pickup,and MM bridge pickup. Taking to a tech friend of mine to do the wiring for me. It has Lakland Daryl Jones Lakland neck already mounted. Has the lightweight Hipshot tuners,and I added a Hipshot bridge. Going to go with Audre 4 band preamp,or Bartilini 2band preamp. It came with the Aguilar pickups. Seems like the neck sits high at heel? Will see how it goes together after dropping it off to the tech wiring preamp,and pickups,get it set up later next week.

I wish the neck had not been attached but it was so now the luthier I took it to told what all he ran into after I dropped it off today. He said he had to do some mods on the neck,and in the neck pocket. And said the bridge may have to be moved forward to compensate for the 21 fret neck? It is a 34" scale bass.
Thought someone would have chimed in about the number 35 stamped in neck pocket of this Warmoth body?
That was a production number. (Not a serial number as production numbers do get repeated over time.)
Talked with luthier about the Warmoth/Lakland project. Was getting little anxious about everything and the mods getting the routing done on the control cavity for the Audre 4 band preamp,and wiring up the pickups. He said had to get the neck pocket where the Lakland neck would sit in there way it should. He said he filled all the excess holes in the heel of neck,by previous mountings? Said it was going to be okay once he got it together and not to worry so much! LOL Note: Correct if I am wrong but looking at the pattern on heel of neck it could be a quartersawn neck? Lakland neck is what got my interest to do this project.

Looking at the rest of the neck, it appears flatsawn to me.
Thanks,couldn't be sure,I have seen examples of the differences between flatsawn necks,and quartersawn necks. Have always seen lot positive comments on the Lakland necks.
