Warmoth Owners Club!!

I will have a hard time buying anything else but warmoth :)
I am similar. The only exception for me is Godin. I have two Freeway 4's and one Shifter Classic 4. They are very well made instruments for the price. I'd love to add an A4 fretless to my little collection someday. But outside of hunting for deals on Godin instruments, I am pretty much only interested in Warmoth builds if I am going to get another new bass.

Ive always known about Warmoth, I just didnt know I could create a $4000 custom for under 2 grand. Been toying with a 4 string fretless ebony board design. The challenge is, my current fretless has topped every other fretless Ive A/B’d against it. But if I move forward, this is the body.

Nice. Bengal burst? I keep looking at Tiger eye burst or dragon burst.

I think the trick is to get Chambered, Roast Alder core, with the lam top of choice. That should give a light-ish weight. I think if you call them you can request extra-light as an off-menu option.

I joined the club earlier this year with a score from the classifieds here. Still working on putting it together though.

5A Koa top on Alder body Jazz. 60’s locations. Going to put a set of Model J’s in it an a John East Jtone if I can get one off the plate. Babicz bridge. Beautiful body. Will be wearing a Status Graphite P neck (old w/ Status logo on front). I need to take pics and will when it’s done but here is the sellers photo pre packing.

Warmoth added in the customized a whole bunch of 1pc body options. So o decided to build a custom that I’m beyond excited for. Here is the sheet.

This will get the Aluminati Hollow Core P neck I have. Nordstrand Big Split Man. Hopefully some creating wiring and stacked knobs for a 4 way rotary for rear coil, series, parallel, front coil a 3 band (may settle on a 2 band but I need to do some research and compatibility with the big split man, I’d also like a passive tone, but I may have to drill my own hole for that. Babicz bridge.

I hope I get a beautiful 1pc. Putting good vibes out there and I trust the process. I asked a rep and they said with customs especially clear finish they search for aesthetically pleasing pieces, and that obviously that is up to the discretion of who gets the order. I have faith in their choices.

I will keep everyone posted. I literally read through every page of the Unofficial Warmoth site, took note of the Black Limba bodies as well as how many people weee disappointed. They’ve offered 1pc BL bodies before so I had some reference. I can’t wait for this custom build.

I’m already thinking about placing another order for my next build as this is addicting…

Dual music man locations filled with Turner Multi-coils wired to a Lusithand Double NFP special. I’ve always wanted to give a filter pre a try and this set up is ā€œWALishā€ lol. Still padding out details there.

I feel you can get that $4k bass for $2k. I've done it. I have 5 Warmoth J's, three of which share my #1 spot. All professionally assembled. I've been very fortunate and would have issues giving any of them up. Just remember, for all the research and planning (including wood choices), you won't know what you got until it's in your hands. Each of my J's have their own voice and they please me. Warmoths are great instruments, but not guaranteed to meet the expectations in your head.

That body is a beauty and is quite the incentive. Best of luck in that your Warmoth turns out like mine did.

I looked up the sales invoice and shipping information from my last Warmoth J-body back in 2021. (There are "reasons" why I keep a separate email address to fulfill all my e-commerce needs. Keep your receipts, y'all! You never know when you might need them again!) It took almost exactly four months for the cut, painted and finished body to arrive.
