It's been raining here most of the day, but late in the afternoon there was no rain, and we even had some sun... I managed to take this picture that I think is really cool... Looks kind of like a planet in space seen through a telescope. This planet can't be the sun because the sun don't have JAZZ pick ups on it. Or..!?

Gotta call Warmoth sometime after the holidays. It is time to get my next project going. From their website, they do not offer the body option I want. Les Paul arch top.. They also said they don't do 1 piece dinky P arch top, but I have one of them!
A quick Warmoth story. Last May I treated myself to my 4th Warmoth, something I always wanted - a CAR Jazz. I got a maple/ebony board neck with blocks only, matching headstock and the (then) fairly new slim profile with vintage tint. I was very happy. 15 months in the neck developed a twist that was not salvageable. I spoke to Rob, who originally sold me the parts, and he said send it on back. A week later he called and confirmed the twist - hey, it's wood after all - and started on the replacement. Last week I got the new neck (this time I opted for the standard profile which I find suits me better) and I had it mounted. I love this bass all over again!!!
Upshot - excellent service!!! They checked out the neck and it was no worries, new one on the way. Where else do you get a 2 year warranty like that? They matched the headstock perfectly, sent me back my brass nut and included a new gold metallic decal - even drilled the neck's mounting holes. I couldn't be happier with my Warmoths!!

Last year I got a new Warmoth neck for a completely trashed, unfinished (after having several different finishes on it) circa 1995 Warmoth P Bass body (you can see it a little in my profile). The neck was so fantastically perfect looking that it just didn't go with the crappy old body visually. I finally gave it a new home on a vintage white Warmoth swamp ash body.
Tried it first with a tortoise guard, but the pau ferro fingerboard is just too caramel colored to work with the red/yellow in the tort. The anodized looks really good to me. Trying to decide if I should get cream colored pickup covers, but for now I'm fine with it as-is.

Looking at their website,I thought their standard necks do have steel stabilizers with graphite optional? I've been considering building a 5'er using a Warmoth neck in large part because I like the idea of steel reinforcing in the neck.Could someone with more knowledge than I answer this? Thanks!!!
