did i miss a thread somewhere. I know there are warmoth lovers and haters out there and that the short scale stuff has been out at least a year but i really haven't seen much about them... Quick look at the website shows some nice bodies available especially their 2 designs.. Single cut is very interesting but is that a neck diver in the making???

As a very long time warmoth fan since early mid 80's when they had the best thrift shop ever for guitar/bass building dabblers.....like me.

Can someone steer me in the right direction.

Jim

I should know in a few days

If Warmoth did a 32" five string, I'd order the parts tonight!

But they dont.:crying:

other than a few boutigue guys not sure anyone does offer that. CB does it and gets great reviews, maybe Wyn. maybe Staumie too.
my next build , will be a shorter scale , leaning towards a 32 though not sure about a 5 string unless it was a high c. I have a few 4 string 32's in my collection but none were really well planned and made to optimize the 32 fully as the bridges moved into the body more versus deepening the treble side cut out - example Sd curlee and D'armond Starfire reissue and Epi EB-1 reissue
I have some time to think about next build as i have a few in build queue, construction, last payment due to ship stages and my money tree had a really bad winter and April 15th and subsequent bad dry spring.....

some of the new release fender or Sq?? tele basses are 32 IIRC so maybe a trip to GC is in order. Not that i like either pickup setup , what were they thinking??? but to get a feel of how the bass plays would be good to help plan out what works for me. A 32" quasi CS Lotto pass ( 2 fender silver tele HB from the 72 era on a real tele shaped body with bass proportions with a 32 neck so neck dive is addressed would be so cool....and less than 5000

those are the ones i was referring to. not sure i understand what they were thinking of with the 2 pickup model. looks and seems like a repairshopfix of an EBO owner his bass sounded like mud and they would add a jbass slanted but that was when there not much else to pick from. noadays that would not be the case.
the other one pickup i get though i would just stick with a tele reissue as it is basically the same pickup situation on a proven body shape for sure.

I have not yet put it on a scale but it's a stout lil 'fer with the Maple body It's perfectly balanced not even the slightest dive . Very pleased .

I used this virtual tone pot again and it sounds freaking killer , it does indeed have a stingray vibe , kinda nasally but ballsy and clear . I dig it big time and it's way better than I could have hoped for . I'll try to track it this weekend ,
