To me, this is much more gimmicky than beautiful but I am convinced it may sell, especially locally. I figured I would share. In a section of this board filled with beautiful wood with natural finishes. . . this may be a bit of an abomination! haha (BTW- I am not a real fan of it personally but this ain't my guitar)

Maybe I wouldn't do it to my bass, but I want to do it to my SUV. I wish I could do it to some of my golf shorts. too. Anything to distract my golfing buddies from their game. You could actually come close to doing a tort guitar body and then a solid color pickguard and blow some tort lovers minds!

Does anyone know where to get these exact color dyes / tints... to do a burst like this on maple?

John M- yeah, my spray gun is putting out half a rainbow! I better soak it!

Honestly, I thought this finish would draw many more WTH responses than anything else

I will make a promise, next finish I do will show grain on a heavily figured top an have much more natural colors. . . .I feel like I will need to redeem myself.

After I have thought about this particular guitar overnight, there is a good bit of paint piled up on it . If I struggle to get it flat. I might re dip it. We'll see. I really wish, at this point, I had made provisions to get some blue LED's on the neck and fingerboard. . . the ultimate in gimmick to add to the finish.

Not necessarily a "fan" of dipped guitars, per se, but the colors chosen and the end results on this one are spectacular...kinda like gazing at planet Earth from space.....kinda :) Guess there's dipping wildly for the sake of dipping wildly, and then there's dipping something tasteful, in my eyes, like this. Have seen more than a few horror show dippings, for sure...love this one.

If this is something potential customers end up requesting . . .I think I would suggest red, white and black OR a black background with bright or neons (really over the top) One thing that I can do is add pearls, which will set apart what I am doing from what others are doing. This would add a whole new dimension in my opinion.
