I have shared that I am working on refinishing guitars and am experimenting wildly. I dipped my first guitar today. To me, this is much more gimmicky than beautiful but I am convinced it may sell, especially locally. I figured I would share. It is not all that difficult, this was my first time and I need to tighten up my approach.

In a section of this board filled with beautiful wood with natural finishes. . . this may be a bit of an abomination! haha (BTW- I am not a real fan of it personally but this ain't my guitar)

Yeah, not for me but commercial.

I will cut then sand the piles of paint in a couple of spots as flat as I can then pound some clear on it, flatten and re clear it until I'm happy

Ibridenstine- the Jackons are are a crystal finish. I quite like it but its obviously a different process.

Gin-The process is not quite as simple as the folks on youtube would have you believe. I figured that if I screwed it up too bad I could sand it back.

I started with a Telecaster kit, shaped it, applied epoxy primer, sanded applied white automotive basecoat, floated some enamel paint on a bunch of water in a large plastic tub, dipped it then hung it up.

There are some other processes I will try later, water splash, crinkle (uses saran rap), crystal, whatever people are willing to pay to own. . .or IF nobody wants me to finish their guitar, I will have a bunch of kits for sale! haha
