Double Bass Warped fingerboard in Las Vegas

This new 3/4 bass did fine for 9 months here, but coming back to it, there's a huge warp that makes the G unplayable. It rubs against the fingerboard. It's warped up about a centimeter on that side. On the other, though, it's actually concave, pointing a little down. Not sure if it's supposed to be like that?

What's usually done here? Replace the fingerboard? Have it planed? The bass is a year old and it's never left my apartment.

That’s so strange to happen on a year old bass. My Kay is 68 years old and slept in a garage for about 5 years and nothing like that ever happened to it. I would just pull it out of the padded gig bag and go play. We have very high humidity in South Texas as well; so I would think that the dry air in Vegas might actually benefit a double bass.

I would say to take it to an experienced luthier and ask him how to handle it. Ebony shouldn’t do that unless it had some sort of trauma done to it.
