I have heard alot of people say that Warwicks necks are to chunky. I am used to playing Fender necks and I used to own a Pedulla so this whole chunky bass neck is new to me.

Warwick Bass necks

They're pretty huge toward the headstock...not unmanageable, but I imagine it would take some time to get used to. They have a weird shape...like if you mixed a P-neck and a trapezoid.
My Thumb was pretty huge, but the ergonomics with the short upper horn were plain painful, which is a shame as it sounded really good. I had a 93 Fortress one, and it had a neck as slim and fast as any fender jazz.
Maybe I should buy another Pedulla. I've played their 19mm spacing necks before,but even those necks are thin.
I don't get all of this... my old Streamer LX's neck was pencil thin and a dream to play in comparison to the Fenders and other basses I tried at the time...

I recently purchased a '08' MIA Fender Jazz V, it came down to a Wick Vette or the Jazz and I took the Jazz because the Vette's neck felt like a baseball bat.
I loved the shape of neck on the Corvettes. It doesn't feel like any other bass, and the thickness helps with fretting wrist angle and I can play smoother on them. After playin upright for a while I find that I like thicker necks on my basses.

Check out the warwick corvette double buck. It has two humbuckers with switches (series, parallel, coil tap) for each pickup and a two band eq. Can get the bassiest, smoothest sound I've found and you have many other choices for sound too. Warwicks are very dynamic playing basses.
I am Fender guy, but I loved all my warwicks, their necks are bit chunky but at the same time very comfortable,and I liked that feeling of wood. kinda soft,natural. try before buy....
+1, Whats the point of asking if you decide for you're self what is comfortable for you. I personally love the u-shape warwick necks, they give a very good feel and it also influences in the sound and sustain IMO.
Go try it, and as you are looking at a Stage II. The warwick NT necks are different, it is said that they feel thinner.
Perhaps you should also try out the streamer LX broadneck, those are very comfortable for nearly any player.

I've found the necks on the neck-thru Warwicks to be much "faster" feeling than the necks on, say, a Corvette Standard.
The SSII is a very high end Warwick, and has a great feeling neck, IMO. Not too chunky at all.
The older Warwicks I have played had thinner feeling necks than the more recent models. I had a 1996 Corvette Proline 4 which seemed fairly thin and I had a 2001 Streamer Stage II 4 which was thin also. On more recent models such as my 2004 2005 Streamer Stage II 4 and 5 strings the necks were noticably thicker. You can order them now through the custom shop with the thinner neck profile. I'm obsessed with my corvette. I have somewhat big hands so the little Jazz neck on my squier had me cramping up all the time. This thing just feels like a P-bass neck. The string spacing is perfect too.
