warwick corvette for $500?

I've got an old buddy from high school thats looking to sell his warwick corvette (standard 4 banger) for $500.

With tax returns comin up, should I plop it down?

I've been gasing for one for some time.

Play it first. If that neck is right for you and the bass is in decent shape than I say go for it. I just traded mine in at about $625 for a marcus miller.

I've played his before and was really impressed.

i just might have to get one then [^_^].

However, I'm afraid my sr505 won't see much play if I pick up that warwick. Oh well.

is the warwick active? some corvettes are strictly passive.

if the pickups say "dynamic correction" on them, its a passive bass. i'd prefer the sr 505 to a passive warwick, but the active warwick would beat the 505 hands down.

in either case, the wick neck will definitely be chunkier...

from what I remember, its passive, and chunkiness doesn't bother me. I've got hands as big as bball players -_-

As long as the trussrod is ok and it doesn't need to be refretted go for it. Electronics are cheap to fix.

Sounds like a swell deal to me. Even passive, the tone & construction slays most anything else in that price range, new or used, IMO
