Warwick Corvette German Vs Korean

I would say that is over priced. It shouldn't be more than $800 IMO. You can find much nicer for less. Just yesterday a wenge neck 1998 FNA (same body as corvette w/better electronics) for $570+shipping.

Here is one on my local Craigslist that has been for sale for about the last year. The price keeps dropping and still no buyers.

I still want to know if anyone has seen a Korean Warwick for sale in the US?

More mis-information

Warwick does have $$ versions of their affordable line. Streamers and Thumbs (Bo or NT) are both still made in Germany.

The only models that ARE NOT made in Germany are the "Pro Series" or whatever they are called. The pro series only has Corvette, Thumb and Streamer Models, both in $$ and other configurations.

Please if someone doesnt know the whole story dont steer this mis-informed soul any farther in the wrong direction!

Please do not be a jerk when you are the one spreading misinformation.

The new Pro series does not have any $$s, it has the Thumb BO, Streamer LX, Corvettes in bubinga and ash, and a Star Bass.

The Rockbass line does have $$s.

This is according to their most recent catalog and website as of today.

NEW WARWICK BUBINGA A CORVETTE 4ST ELECTRIC BASS GUITAR - eBay (item 190510634593 end time Mar-16-11 17:24:02 PDT)

Here's a link to an auction for a NEW Pro series Warwick Corvette in the US. It appears that this same seller has 4, 5, & 6 string models available.

Thanks. I'd really like to check one out but unless I see one at a local shop probably never will. Why buy a Korean when the used market is flooded with deals on Germans?

Do the Korean models have brass frets?

OK I finally got the serial number. D-047832-98

The bass was made in April 1998 - in Germany, obviously.

@Need2KnowBasses

The Corvettes are exactly the same as the German STD, except they're made only in Korea now.

The Streamer LX & Thumb models have different woods; the noticeable difference on both is the maple neck (as opposed to ovangkol for the MIG basses). The MIK Streamer LX has a cherry body, while the German one has a flamed maple body; the Thumb has an ovangkol body (with a high polish finish), while the German BO has a bubinga body. The rest is the same (including the brass frets).
