Warwick Corvette $$ NT or Spector Euro 4 LX

I am a fan of both actually... I got my $$ because the price was right and it played/sounded great to me.
That said, if i would have seen a Spector for that price it would have been hard to say no as well.
The bolt-on $$ are real winners IMHO and may save you a bit of cash

I have never owned the Corvette but I know from first hand experience that the Spector will give you what you are looking for.

When I went to Sam Ash on Saturday to try out the Warwicks and the Spectors, I got my hands on a Gibson Les Paul Standard Plus.


To make a short story even shorter, I ended up buying said Les Paul.







To explain this blasphemy: my current position in my band is Guitarist, but I would have switched back to Bassist upon the purchase of one of the Basses in the OP. The Spector Bass felt perfect in my hands, but that Les Paul just made me want to play guitar.

I don't know why, but my subconscious made the decision for me.

Now, for my biased opinion, I can't stand the Spector neck, way too thick (not chunky but thick). The growl, being in the high mids do not cut through as much as the warwick growl. I can't stand EMG pickups or electronics being too lifeless. The Spector lacks a lot of mids vs the wick and sure as hell ain't as much punchy as the bubinga version of the $$ NT.

What's the difference between "chunky" and "thick" in your eyes?

Wishbass aside, I've never heard a comment about a neck being more uncomfortable than a Warwick because it was "thick"er.

Not to worry though, I will eventually get either Bass once I scrounge up the money to do so. I think I will sell my current Bass and other guitar to help that along in a few months.
