Thanx for the ideas, But I bought this on a cuppla months ago & am LOVING it!!! Awesome tones- I mean........ Passive OR active, bridge Humbucker/single coil, neck HB/SC, BOTH on SC mode, BOTH on HB mode=AWESOME!! Then the EQ is great too. I LOVE it as a "JAZZ" bass- both pups on SC. Also use it w/ bridge on HB & neck on SC. Ridiculously versatile .. while being great in all it's variations!!

I just LOVE my $$. The "chunky" neck actually feels right after a short while, and the playability of this bass is fast and second to none. the tonal possibilities are numerous. Mine is Green, and stands out - my band mates call it the Green Monster.

ONE BIG PROBLEM - As I was taking the bass out of the (excellent) Warwick gig bag, one of the toggle switches caught on the edge of the plastic piece inside the cover, and broke it off! Of course I had no backup and at least the switch was in one of the positions, but NOT the humbucking one, and the bass buzzed like crazy all night as I was near the light dimmers.

The distribution of the basses has just been taken over by Hanser, and NO ONE has the dang parts. It has been 5 months, and I can't play my Warwick. I visited both Warwick and Hanser at NAMM and no one was any help.

I will see Warwick at the MusikMesse next month, and sure hope that I can get a switch. Replacing it will not be easy as it is not only soldered into a PCB but also has wires coming off it. As much as I like the bass, I am SERIOUSLY dissappointed in the service at this time.

My Lesson - NO MORE GIG BAGS except for storage at home.

Warwick is my favorite bass. At first the strings were like AHHH KILLING FINGERS, but after playing them a while I actually preffer them. I tried to go back to my Ibanez BTB and couldn't... just sounded so twangy and fake after being used to hearing THE SOUND OF WOOD!

Congrats on your $$. Be thankful it's light. My bubinga corvette is 11.3 pounds / 5.1 kg :eek:

The one gripe I had about the Double Buck I saw was the finish. It showed scratches and dings horribly. They looked like opaque white marks. This was on a transparent black $$. Not sure what they call the finish. The other aspects of the instrument were fine. Just the finish was sketchy.

It's just that they don't put a poly finish over the basses, so the wood is exposed to take damage. Poly has it's own issues, such as showing finger smudges and swirlies, but it does protect the wood. Just depends on what you are after. I have a friend with a 'wick and there are deep gouges above the pickups where his thumb nail has slowly dug into the wood when he plays. That wouldn't happen on a poly coated bass. It doesn't bother him one bit, but if you're the type person who likes to polish your bass and keep it looking as new as possible, basses that don't have a protective coating can be more difficult depending on how you play.

I loved mine and played it for a long time, but the narrow-nut width killed my left wrist after a while. My fingers are just too long for that small space, and they would cramp up a lot.

I didn't dig the Corvette body much either, I thought it was a little uncomfortable.

I would love to get my hands on the Streamer 5 string version though!
