Warwick Hellborg Signature

That would bass would do something for me if the pickup was about 4 inches away from the bridge and the price was $600. I probably still wouldn't buy it, but just the same...

Anyone knows if the last record was recorded with this bass? or is the bass newer ???
I have no clue, but he might have. Fact is that Jonas did have a prototype of his signature bass about a year ago, as evidenced by the following two clips, taken from an excellent Hellborg documentary called Kali's son:

Enjoy! (I'm not sure I did. Mattias IA Eklund's playing does nothing for me, and I think Jonas relies too heavy on shredding theses days. Not my cup of tea.)

Not to mention the fact that its grossly overpriced.
I'm not so sure that it is grossly overpriced, though it's way too dear for me. After all, the Hellborg model is hand made in Warwick's custom shop, which I suppose equals greater attention to details than what the regular production models get. And when compared with the price of an archtop guitar of equal caliber and luthier attention - the two intruments do share some similarities in construction et.c. - it's not unproportionately expensive.
