I like it. but maple neck AND body? that things tone is gonna be really bright. but! it would make for a good tour bass b/c w/ both parts being made out of maple..it would be a tank

Rickenbackers are made with a maple neck and body as well. The only Warwick I've played that I liked was all maple.

My guess is Joe Zon couldn't afford to pay him $50K a year to be seen with his basses.....

the finish is nothing special.
spectra chrome developed it years ago, and it has been used on show cars and bikes for a long time. I even had blue chrome on one of my own bikes for one year.
It is really kind of surprising that it has not made it's way onto music instruments before now
