I got the Warwick JB Rockbass (fretless) this summer. It's beautiful and the pickups are cool but so far disappointed with overall playability. It was unplayable out of the box... Too much time on the boat from China? Had to adjust truss rod and bridge to get into a reasonable playing range...The g string sounds thin...with action low enough for mwah g string sounds kind of weird to me... Going to try it with flats. My Tony Franklin kills it frankly, no pun intended. It really can get a Jack Bruce grunty sound IMO, but for some reason my Tony Franklin is a lot easier to play in tune in the upper registers and just feels like a higher quality instrument. The electronics are cool on the Jack Bruce and it can operate virtually hum free, which is kind of an issue on the TF when you solo the bridge pup. The Warwick pickups can get pretty nasty if you dig in, which can be a good thing depending on what you are playing... But I really feel it is more of a rockbass than a jazz bass if that makes any sense. Still hoping to make better friends with it with flats perhaps, but my Tony Franklin was love right out of the box...and i'm a much bigger Jack Bruce fan than Tony Franklin Franklin fan, Just sayin'.......want to love this bass but it's not quite everything I was hoping for..
