Warwick mods

Hi, this is my first or maybe second post. I own a warwick streamer
LX 4 string bass, this is my second warwick and I'm happy with her.
The only thing I'd like is to get some more organic sound, with more thump. What do you think about changing pickups? To go with passive? Anybody experienced with mods on warwick?

I have a Warwick $$ and it has a push pull volume pot that actually turns the bass full passive, maybe you could wire that function into the bass. BTW, on passive, the bass is NOT noticably louder than when on active. It may be nice to have that function, as you can set your volume and treble knobs to one setting, then push that pot and instantly have two tone settings.... just a thought, hope that helps! mine has that too. alot of them apparently do, id guess most of there basses above the standard leavel

i have preamp bypass on vol pot. But I've found my self turning the bass more during a gig (even with fresh battery) because feel like loosing some balls. There is a loss in headroom when eq is flat in active mode compared to bypass, so I may consider changing preamp. Anybody tried Audere with Warwick?

About 4 months ago, I had the tech at my local Guitar Center install EMG's BQC-Controls in my 2000 Thumb 5 Bolt-on. I was going to have him install MEC's 3-band preamp, but he suggested EMG. His reasons were that the EMG preamp was substantially less expensive, quiet and offers more versatile tone shaping. WAS HE EVER SO ON THE MONEY!!!! THE DIFFERENCE IS BEYOND NIGHT AND DAY!! I HAVEN'T EVEN SCRATCHED THE SURFACE IN FINDING THE NUMBER OF TONES AVAILABLE!! The major features of the BQC-Controls are the variable mid control and the adjustable high frequency cross-over controls. I am still using the MEC pickups. Again, the transformation is beyond words!!
