Either way it's really a moot point...the asking price is absurd, about 400% of market value...

It very well could legitimately be from Foghat, but even so, it would require someone to be fanatic about either Foghat or Warwick history to care enough to justify the cost.

Don't confuse "asking price" with actual value. I've seen plenty of obnoxious 'prices' on ebay and craigslist. Some of them stay there a LOOOOONG time, and some of them change.
 
I saw that on Spectors Facebook page, somebody posted it thinking it was a fake and blasted/reported the eBay seller. The guy that posted it got all upset when it was pointed out how wrong he was. He basically got schooled, it was pretty funny! The guy just couldn't accept the fact that Warwick and Spector had a licensing agreement.
