I am gravitating towards playing my Warwick Thumb 5 NT(year 95) that I got in a trade and pretty much had sitting around for a while .
It has std MEC pups , I'm thinking of possibly changing the MEC's and am interested what opinions or experience anyone may have had with pickup
replacement on a Thumb Bass ??
These basses are very specific in their sound w their mid range emphasis and 'close to bridge' pickup positions . The mid focus is really strong and maybe a bit more natural bottom end would compliment it ?
On the other hand perhaps its better just to leave the bass as is and just play the thing
