Sounds like you can cross one off of your list Warwick is one of my favoite builders, and if you wanted to check out a Warwick the Streamer series (moreso SSII IMO... SSI tone is a bit dull to my ears) or Corvette series might be more up your, and the OPs, alley... but I'm pretty sure Dr. Chese has probably owned one before somewhere in his promiscuous bass-owning past

Yes I did own a Corvette and I liked it a lot. As I said before, this is a case of assuming the big dollar instrument would be better than the cheaper one. Corvettes certainly have the kind of tone that I would prefer in most settings.

I went back and played again. The biggest problem before was that I was playing it through a crappy Fender amp. I went through a Markbass amp & 4x10 cab and it was 200% better. The sound is very middy but I like Ken Smiths and Sadowsky moderns, so the midrange is fine with me. The also needs heavier gauge strings. $1700 is a lot but a good price Thumb Six. BTW, it's not a b Broadneck either.

My biggest issue with the Thumb is that it strikes me as a true one trick pony. The "neck" pup is especially useless solo. Both pups with the bass and treble maxed is great though.

I've never encountered a Thumb that didn't have a massive bottom end!

I like that Thumb, but I won't get it since I would have to sell off basses that I can get more use out of to get it. If I had a spare $1,700 though, I would snap it up!
