Warwick Wax equal??

Given the really limited access and supply of Warwick Wax I've been using Howards Feed-N-Wax on a regular basis. Howards is a combo of beeswax and orange oil and seems to last about a month.
Given that I just picked up a Star Bass II I wanted to start on the right footing but can't seem to locate any Warwick wax. Going on-line I noticed "Antiquax" English wax polish touted as an equal to the Warwick. I just tried some and I'm actually puzzled at the results. It didn't seem to bring out the wood definition any differently than Howards but it left the surface as a flat/matte surface as the bass was before I applied the first treatment of Howards. Am I missing something here?

I've don't have personal experience with anything except the Warwick Wax, but have always heard positive comments about Howard's Feed & Wax. If you'd like to get some of the Warwick wax I would be happy to assist you in getting some from the NY Custom shop. They have it in stock, ready to go. Thanks!
