Change the tape to the light stickers. Even without the heat the amp will produce that tape would turn to goo in a couple months. Need something that can take the heat and not leave slime.

I wonder if you could grab a sheet of a neutral density lighting gel and cut a template that fits under the glowing block. It should take the heat and work without adhesive. Plus, you have options on how far down you can dim it. I did something similar with an obnoxious LED clock back in the day.

Nearly another year later and I bought this head from someone here thinking I could dim the LEDs (mistaking it was a v2 option only). They wouldn't be a problem if the labels behind the knobs were still readable 
I'll eventually try something like this since I work in a venue with lighting gels & friendly 'electricians', what the lighting people call themselves. I'm grateful y'all have tried & shared these mods!
P. S. I love how this head sounds. I bought my first cab to go with it recently and the seller said it sounded 'about the same' as his MarkBass head. I'd call that praise!
