While I haven't replaced mine yet; I have does crackle a bit if the jack is jiggled or turned. It only causes a problem if I'm trying to get an Obsessive Compulsive Disorder compliant signal through to my delay pedal.

Also; as previously mentioned use the right angle plugs. They are more secure and less likely to cause damage to the input jack. To me it looks cleaner too.

Just what exactly are you folks "inputting" through this jack?

it is obviously an output jack, people call it input because they PUT their cable IN it.

just wrong choice of words...i think you know what they mean.

I had this same problem w/ a deluxe jazz, but no probs outta my corvette.
