No, they weren't selling.
They originally retailed for $1799, and then
in 1999 the retail went past 2K. Finally, when retailers were dumping the discontinued stock in 2001 prices plummeted to $900 to $1,200. Of course the older Wenge Neck models selling for more then the newer Ovangol necks, even though the retail pricing was the opposite.
It got rave reviews in the US, but not as good in the UK.
Go figure.
It's considered a "Funk Machine."
I guess the UK reviewers forgot the funk.
With "Taps" carried on a distant wind and a tear in the eye....
